Atomic Age describes the research and developments of the atomic age. The beginning of this era is marked by the first nuclear reactor "Chicago Pile-1" in December 1942. In the decades that followed, numerous further developments in nuclear technology took place, both in the military and in the civilian sector. To this day, the use of atomic energy is of great importance and set various milestones in the technological development of mankind. The new Vostok Europe Atomic Age series honors these technological developments. This multi-function line focuses on J. Robert Oppenheimer, the former head of the Los Alamos Laboratory and the "Manhattan Project" responsible for developing the first atomic weapon. After the end of World War II he took over the chairmanship of the American Atomic Energy Agency, but fell out of favor when he opposed the use of the hydrogen bomb. Until his death, Oppenheimer was director of the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton. The watch design combines a unique techno-futuristic, polygonal, anatomical case with tritium lighting. The case consists of two metal parts that are attached with two rivets. The hands are brushed and skeletonized, the dials have a grain structure. Specially designed brand new silicone straps with ventilation holes offer excellent comfort for everyday use. Each copy comes in a red dry box, tools to change the strap and a total of 2 straps (silicone and leather).
